An additional audition has been set to fill the remaining roles in the Salem Theatre’s upcoming performance of ‘Biloxi Blues’.
It will be held at eleven Saturday morning at the Salem Community Theatre.
The dates of the play have also been moved back to allow for those in school to have additional rehearsal time. The show will now be performed on July 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, and 17th.
The play is very similar to the movie version that was released in 1988, starring Matthew Broderick and Christopher Walken. This show will include adult-themed topics such as racism, loss of virginity, and the use of foul language because it centers around six young men shipped off to serve in World War 2.
Director Michelle Barbee says there are openings remaining for four young men (high school and college-aged). Barbee says the rehearsal schedule will be flexible to work around students’ school schedules until classes are out for the summer.
