A 30-year-old rural Iuka man was formally charged in Marion County Court on Friday with child pornography.

Jonathan Wuehler of Route 161 Extension is accused of having a video on his phone that depicted a sex act between a woman and an underage person.  Bond was set at $250,000.  If released, he was ordered to have no phone or computer.

In the probable cause statement, State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth said the Marion County Sheriff’s Department was initially notified by a friend that had reportedly seen the video on the phone.  Wuehler later allegedly admitted to having the video.

Hudspeth says it appears the video was downloaded from the internet.   He reported additional counts could be added as the investigation is continuing.

The public defender was appointed to represent him.  A preliminary hearing is set for May 3rd.
