A Centralia woman escaped injury when her car went out of control and ran through part of the front of the Social Security Disability Examinations Office at 126 South Lincoln in Centralia Wednesday afternoon.
Centralia City Firemen say Sherill Allen of Woods Lane told them she was trying to stop when pulling in front of the building to go to the nearby Ross Flower Shop, but the truck kept picking up speed until it crashed into the front of the Social Security office causing heavy damage.
Allen was able to get out of the pickup on her own.
Both the Social Security office and Dr. Matt Stedelin’s office next door are both closed on Wednesday so there was no one around the front of the offices when the crash occurred.
Emergency help responded at 1:47 Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle had to be towed.
