Shirley Ingles, 81, of Odin passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Fireside House in Centralia.

She was born on July 29, 1941, the daughter of William “Bill” and Bernice (Williams) Harmon in Sandoval. She married the love of her life, Lloyd Ingles in 1967, in Centralia and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2022.

Survivors include her beloved family, daughter, Cindy (Ken) Parkus of Salem; son, Mike Ingles of Odin; cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Organ of Salem, Amanda Parkus of St. Charles, Missouri, and Ashley Buchanan of Salem; precious great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Kyla, Kamri, and Jenson; brothers, Roy Harmon of Centralia, Jim (Sue) Harmon of Sandoval, and Donald (Marlene) Harmon of Centralia; sisters, Wanda (George) Roper of Centralia, Donna Hixenbaugh of Odin, Mae Deadmond of Salem, and Joyce Gelsinger of Odin; brothers-in-law, Tom (Theresa) Ingles of Sandoval, and Clarence Ingles of O’Fallon, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Along with her husband, Lloyd Ingles, Shirley was preceded in death by both her parents; her siblings, John Harmon, Joe Harmon, Everett Harmon, Shirley Ingles, Mary Mashoff, Norma Jean Sessions, Dorothy Belcher, and Wilma Garner; and her son, Robert Ingles.

Shirley was of the Christian faith. Working to make a warm and welcoming home for her family in Odin, Shirley always cooked amazing meals, loving the time with her family. She learned the art of cooking a good meal from her mother and she and her family have many wonderful memories of sharing Sunday dinners around her mother’s table. She held her family dear to her heart and was the glue that held her family together. Shirley especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her face would light up every time she saw them. She loved to listen to county music. Shirley was a kind, true lady who will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with Brother Claude Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home in Odin.
