Belva Ann Rowe, 87, of Bonnie, Illinois, passed away at 4:25 pm March 24, 2023, at her residence.
She was born January 1, 1936, in Jefferson County to the late Bligh Robinson and Madge Hays. Belva married Richard Dale Rowe on October 31, 1953. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2017. She and Dick had a great life and are rejoicing together today.
Belva is survived by her children, Randy S. Rowe and wife, Janet of Lebanon, Missouri, Maribeth Rowe and special friend, Tim of Bonnie; granddaughter, Miranda Doss and husband, Steve of St. Louis, Missouri, great-grandson, Braxton Doss of St. Louis; special family, Leck, Jera and Sawyer Laur; one sister, Margie Hamilton and husband, Walt of North Carolina; ex-daughter-in-law, Karen Bucalo and husband Kenneth of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Richard, Belva was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Johnie Robinson.
Dick and Belva owned and operated Rowe’s Grocery and Bait as well as Starr Step Dance Hall for many years. She was a member of Mount Vernon Church of Christ. They enjoyed traveling by motorcycle and in their motor home all around the country. Belva loved politics and was a strong Republican Party member. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Belva never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
