Two Salem men have been sentenced in Marion County Court for failure to report a change of an address for a sex offender.
53-year-old Christopher Phillips of England Road was sentenced to 30 months probation, 60 days in the Marion County Jail, and given day for day credit for time already served. He was also ordered to undergo drug and mental health evaluation and any recommended treatment.
Phillips admitted to not registering within three days after moving to a home on Warmoth Street in Salem from Davidson County, Tennessee where he was convicted of sexual battery. A second count of being a child sex offender within 500 feet of a playground was dropped as part of the plea. The incidents occurred in April 2021.
24-year-old Jordan Lippert of South Franklin was placed on two years probation along with drug, alcohol, and mental health evaluation and any recommended treatment. He failed to report a change of address within three days in April and May 2021.
