Salem Police arrested a 40-year-old homeless Salem man early Monday morning for resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and on a US Marshal’s warrant. Police were called to a home on Shingle Oaks Drive alerting them that Edmond Harris was present. He allegedly resisted arrest on the US Marshal’s warrant and then was allegedly found in possession of cocaine. Harris was taken to the Marion County Jail.
19-year-old Tyler Cain of North 500th Street in Patoka was arrested for alleged driving under the influence and possession of alcohol by a minor after his vehicle ran off the 3700 block of Oak Grove Road in rural Alma into a tree in a nearby wooded area.
Kinmundy-Alma fire and EMS were called to the scene on Sunday, but sheriff’s officials say Cain escaped serious injury. He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he was given a notice to appear on the charges.
Wamac Police arrested 44-year-old James Barrett of North Tolle Road in Texico on an outstanding Jefferson County felony warrant. He was released after posting a $2,500 cash bond.
20-year-old Deiaja Lowe of North Maple in Centralia was arrested by State Police for driving on a suspended or revoked license, obstructing identification, no valid driver’s license, and speeding. Lowe was taken to the Marion County Jail where she was released on a notice to appear in court on the charges.
