The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting Friday afternoon to welcome a new business to the Orchard Shopping Center.

Box Drop Mattress of Salem is actually about a year old, starting in a smaller space at the Westgate Shopping Center.

The owner is Tina Sager who says they have mattresses for those on a budget to the luxurious brands.

“Comfort levels, we have all different kinds.  We have conventional mattresses, memory foam, hybrids.  Hopefully, we can accommodate something for everyone.  Eventually, we’ll have something down the road in maybe six to eight months there might be a little addition to it all.  For right now, we are going to start with that.  We also have adjustables and platforms that can work for bases.  We have the traditional box springs.  So we have some options.  We have quite a bit,” said Sager.

A second showroom is already being added for the store with plenty of warehouse space and room for future growth.   Box Drop is in the last storefront at the Orchard Shopping Center that was recently vacated by Minor League, which moved to a new location.

Sager says they will be adding store hours of 10 to four Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with hours by appointment the rest of the week.   She says as the business grows, hours will be added.  But she notes the by appointment system allows her staff to work one on one with those who are looking for a new mattress.
