A 32-year-old Salem man has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding police after leading Salem Police on a chase last March.

Lamont Huss of Salem Mobile Home Park was placed on two years conditional discharge and fined $650 and costs.

As part of the plea, a felony count of aggravated fleeing and eluding police was dropped along with two counts of resisting a peace officer, unlawful possession of a weapon, and illegal possession of ammunition or a weapon without a FOID card.

Salem Police at the time said Huss ran from a traffic stop and attempted to enter one of the mobile homes.  A scuffle ensued when they tried to handcuff Huss leading to the two resisting charges.   A gun and ammunition were later allegedly found in the vehicle that he exited.
