A 33-year-old Central City woman has been arrested for aggravated battery to a child.
Central City Police Chief Jamie Ramsey says Hillary Booth of North Douglas was taken into custody when she came in for questioning about an incident on Saturday when an eight-year-old boy in her care was later found with significant bruising to his face, arms, and shoulder.
A grandfather reported the incident and took him to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Ramsey says DCFS has already issued an order of protection against Booth to prevent her from having any further contact with the child to who she has visitation rights.
Booth is being held in the Marion County Jail pending a decision on formal charges.
