CREST HILL, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say officers in a Chicago suburb fatally shot a man after he stabbed and seriously wounded an officer during a confrontation as police responded to a domestic call.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office says a woman called police Monday night and said her husband had punched her in the face while children were present.
Police say three Crest Hill officers responded to the scene and when they confronted the man he stabbed one of them in the leg. An officer then shot the man several times and he died on the scene.
The deceased man has been identified as 30-year-old Matthew Parks.
