The Centralia City Council has approved moving forward with eight more home demolition projects if improvements are not made. The homes are at 1024 South Elm, 522 South Maple, 202 West Kell, 215 West Second, 432 North Locust, 516 North Walnut, 122 South Walnut and 123 West Kell Street.
The council approved a new Class A liquor license for Hair of the Dog, LLC at 325 South Poplar. The business is an off leash indoor and outdoor dog park. Renovation work on the former Kaskaskia College Work Force Center into the new business is continuing.
The council approved the lone bid for Aggregate Materials for the 2022 Public Works Maintenance program. The price from Brink Brothers Grain and Trucking Inc. is up 45-percent from last year.
