The Odin School Board has voted how they want to spend the last half-million dollars of a $3-million building improvement plan this summer.
The money will go into new cabinetry and sinks for the Junior High and Senior High Science labs in the three-story high school section of the building along with the renovation of the home economics room on the second floor of the high school. All the window air conditioners will also be removed in the high school building since there will be a new heating and air conditioning system. The school office will also be renovated with new flooring.
Superintendent Kimberly Briggs says their construction manager is confident all $3-million in projects can be completed over the summer break.
The school board was told Prom will be Saturday, April 2nd. Coronation will be at the school at five pm. The dance will be held at the Sprehe Field building in Centralia at 7:30.
In personnel action, the board approved the hiring of James Moore as night custodian, Jessica Thoms as Junior High Math/Social Studies teacher for next school year, and Amy Janic for special education next school year. The board accepted the resignation of Angela Meredith as an elementary teacher at the end of the school year and Raigan Schwartz as a junior high softball coach. The board passed a resolution for the non-renewal of elementary special education teacher Becky Woodward.
