Police Beat for Monday, March 14th, 2022

Centralia Police arrested 38-year-old Steven Cody of South Pine in Centralia for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody when police were investigating a suspicious person near Skipper’s Inn on Sunday.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 46-year-old Roger Porter of Ruble Lane in Salem for aggravated assault. He was allegedly swinging a bat at other people at the home on Ruble Lane.

Salem Police arrested two people on warrants when going to a home looking for one of them. 34-year-old Walter Williams of Green Road in Iuka was arrested on an outstanding Marion County failure to appear warrant for possession of methamphetamine and a Clinton County failure to appear warrant on a felony retail theft conviction. Bond on the warrant totals $25,000. The second person found was 34-year-old Elizabeth Swieca of East Boone Street in Salem. She was arrested on an outstanding Marion County traffic failure to appear warrant with bond set at $3,500.

Centralia Police arrested 57-year-old Scotty Austin of Meridian Road in Patoka on a petition to revoke his probation in Fayette County on a possession of meth charge.

37-year-old Erica Taylor of Hoots Chapel Road in Odin was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on a felony failure to appear warrant for possession of five to 15 grams of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $5,000.

Salem Police arrested 51-year-old Tammy Childress of North Hamilton in Salem on a Marion County traffic failure to appear warrant after they were called to investigate a suspicious person in the 300 block of East Olive. Bond on the warrant is set at $2,500.
