2023 03/11 – William E. ‘Bill’ Dannaman

William E. “Bill” Dannaman, age 84 of Centralia, passed away at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Mr. Dannaman was born in Carlyle, Illinois on March 8, 1939, a son of the late Oscar and Josie (Wells) Dannaman.  He married Cathy Deadmond in Shattuc on September 18, 1982, and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife Cathy, Mr. Dannaman is also survived by his children – Steve Dannaman and his wife Jennifer, Darlene Struberg and friend Eldon, Matt Dannaman and his wife Staci, and Jarod Dannaman; his grandchildren – Kyle Dannaman and his wife Jess, Kayla Timmermann and husband Matt, Clayton Dannaman, Mary Claire Dannaman, Anthony Jernigan, Josie Jernigan, Julius Dannaman, and Declan Dannaman; a great-granddaughter – Luna Dannaman, and he was anticipating the arrival of another great-grandchild in June; and a sister – Gloria Eggeman.

Mr. Dannaman was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Josie Dannaman; and his siblings – Vera Dove, Violet Schuchmann, Charles Dannaman, Darrell Dannaman, Janice Nauert, and Marvin Dannaman.

Bill worked as a supervisor at Basler Electric in Highland for 38 years.  He loved family gatherings and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.  Bill also enjoyed sports, whether he was watching the Fighting Illini or the St. Louis Cardinals, or out playing a round of golf.  He loved watching old movies, playing slot machines, and going to the casino.  Mr. Dannaman proudly served in the United States Army.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 PM.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Dannaman are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.  Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.ZierenFuneralHome.com.
