LaGathia I. Davis, 93, of Benton, Il passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, in Helia Healthcare of Energy at 10:55 am.
She was born on October 9, 1929, in Logan, IL to Dave and Mamie (Lindsey) Hammers. She was a member of the West City Church of God. She worked for many years at Walker Dime Store, Brown Shoe Factory, and Betterdorf-Stanford.
LaGathia was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Davis on March 26, 2014; her parents; sister Wanda Hammers; and brothers, Robert, Carl, Lavern, Ira Gene, and Adrian Hammers and by 2 infant brothers.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Dannie) See and Brenda Kay Davis; grandchildren Craig See and Robin (Jason) Bailey; great-grandchildren Paige Morgan Hamel and Parker Ashton Bailey; sister Margie (Lee) O’Keefe; and brother Marvin Hammers.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in the Union Funeral Home-West Frankfort at 10:00 am with Pastor Harol Whitlock officiating. The interment will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the funeral home from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the West City Church of God and will be accepted at the funeral home.
