The Bryan-Bennett Library in Salem will host a celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss, the pen name of Theodor Geisel, on Saturday morning at 11 at the Library.

The famed children’s author and illustrator was born on March 2nd, 1904. His works have delighted generations of children and adults.

The celebration will begin with games. Green Eggs and Ham tic-tac-toe, One Fish Two Fish ring toss, Dr. Seuss character B-I-N-G-O, and Red Fish, Blue Fish Fishing to name a few.

There will be a storytime featuring two of hos most beloved stories: 1) a baby bird goes in search of its mother in “Are You My Mother” and 2) a mouse gives a wordy tour “In a People House” and a race to a party in “Go, Dog. Go!”

The hour will end with a birthday treat and a Cat in the Hat craft. There is no charge to attend this event.
