Illinois State Police say a 68-year-old Geff woman was killed when her SUV collided with a semi-truck in Wayne County during the noon hour on Wednesday.
The person killed is identified as Kathy Richardson.
A preliminary investigation by State Police indicates Richardson was traveling east on Illinois Route 15 just east of 105 E when for unknown reasons she crossed the centerline. The driver of the semi, 45-year-old Robert Cline of Cisne, swerved right and attempted to avoid a collision but was struck in the front driver side by Richardson.
Richardson was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Wayne County Coroner.
Cline and a 12-year-old female from Fairfield, who was a passenger in the Richardson SUV, reported no injuries.
The crash closed Illinois Route 15 for about four and a half hours.
