The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has made a drug and weapons arrest after a vehicle was stopped for speeding on Route 161 near Medlin Road west of Centralia.
18-year-old Branson McCray of Cormick Street in Centralia was taken to the Marion County Jail for manufacture or delivery of 30 to 500 grams of cannabis. Sheriff’s officials say McCray had 225 grams of cannabis in multiple bags in his possession.
A 16-year-old Ashley juvenile male was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Reports indicate he had a loaded pistol in his possession. The juvenile was taken to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility pending a first appearance in court.
Both were passengers in a car driven by 18-year-old Callie Paskavich of West Green Street in Centralia who was ticketed for speeding. The traffic stop occurred at 1:41 Wednesday afternoon.
