Centralia Police have arrested 40-year-old Anthony Johnston of Breese Street in Central City for forgery. Police had been looking for Johnston since December when he allegedly gave a counterfeit $20 bill to another person to pay for $12 worth of items at the Centralia Huck’s Store. Police say they have had past dealings with Johnston and recognized him as the person in the video surveillance from the Huck’s Store.
50-year-old David Hopper of South Elm in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant. Bond is set at $2,500.
24-year-old Trevon McClain of North Cherry in Centralia posted $300 bond and was released after being arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on an outstanding felony warrant.
Salem Fire Protection District personnel was called to a report of burned food in a room at the Holiday Inn Express Tuesday night. Fire officials say those in the room were using a propane camp stove when the food burned causing smoke in the room. Motel officials worked to clear the remaining smoke.
