Marion County Circuit Clerk Tiffany Schicker says annual fee notices to those who pay child support through the circuit clerk’s office are in the mail.
Schicker reports 1,565 notices have been sent to those who are charged the $36 annual fee. She reports the court ordered fees are used to maintain the child support system and help pay the salary of a clerk who handles the payments.
The deadline to pay the fees is March 31st.
Schicker says they no longer issue warrants for the arrest of those who fail to pay the $36 fee and now turn those who don’t pay to collections.
