2023 02/11 – Dustin A. Dagg

Dustin A. Dagg, 39, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and formerly of Texico, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

He was born January 4, 1984, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the son of Dennis A. and Mary Ann (Jackson) Dagg. Dustin graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 2002, and graduated from Rend Lake College in 2005. He served in the United States Army from 2005 to 2010, including two tours in Iraq. He also graduated from Southeast Lineman Training Center in Trenton, Georgia. He worked as a Journeyman Lineman, most recently with Trico Electric Co-op, in Arizona.

Dustin is survived by his parents, Dennis and Mary Ann Dagg of Texico, and sister, Stacy Dagg of Texico, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Carolyn Dagg, and Wade and Ida Mae Jackson, and uncle William Jackson.

Cremation rites for Dustin have been accorded, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Rev. Elton “Bud” Storey and Pastor Therese Melena officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery, with graveside military rites accorded by American Legion Post #141, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois (VHFSI), Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge Veteran Flag Case Project, Union Chapel Cemetery, or an organization of the donor’s choice, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
