Kenneth Charles Oathout, 92, of Dwight, Illinois, passed away at 1:22 pm January 25, 2023, at Heritage Health.
He was born October 3, 1930, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Floyd and Viola (Taylor) Oathout. Kenneth married Anna (Leffler) Oathout on July 16, 1949, in Henderson, Kentucky. They were blessed with 73 years of marriage.
In addition to his beloved wife, Kenneth is survived by his children, Barbara Cook of Bloomington, Illinois, and Kenny Ray Oathout and wife, Karen of Custer Park, Illinois; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Delbert Gene Oathout; and brothers, Eddie Oathout, Art Oathout, and Gilbert Oathout. Kenneth served as a pastor for 60 years. He was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm with Pastor Clarence Cawvey officiating. Inurnment will take place at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois at a later date. Memorials may be made in Kenneth’s honor to the First Church of the Nazarene.
