Wise World of Wellen presented by Salem Eye Clinic

1. Happy Groundhog Day! I know this is going to come as a shock, but Punxsutawney Phil’s weather predictions aren’t 100% accurate. Weather is different everywhere, but even in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Phil has only been correct 39% of the time.

2. There’s scientific proof that closing your eyes makes it easier to remember accurate details of things you saw.

3. The Boston Tea Party in 1773 destroyed 92,000 pounds of tea, which would be worth about $1.7 million in today’s money.

4. The projectile vomit in “The Exorcist” was from a famous California restaurant called Pea Soup Andersen’s. Their soup looked more like vomit on camera than Campbell’s. Bonus fact I stayed at the Pea Soup Inn on my vacation to California this past summer!

5. The witches in “Macbeth” didn’t really use “eye of newt.” That was just the ancient term for mustard seeds.
