Shirley Finn, 86, of Texico, passed away at 12:31 a.m., Sunday, January 15, 2023, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital, in Mt. Vernon.

She was born November 20, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Jesse McDonald and Martha Jewell (Lisenby) Roberson.  On February 26, 1955, she eloped, with her high school sweetheart, Kellie Finn, to Corinth, Mississippi.  They stayed enamored with one another, and everyone knew it.  They both worked hard and made family life fun.  He preceded her in death on May 5, 1999.

She was a very strong lady, and a selfless wife and mother.  She was a comfort and blessing to many.  She enjoyed gardening, nature, cooking, camping, bowling, Yahtzee, crafting, and going to the woods with her husband to “Squirrel Hunt.”  She loved caring for her family, whom she always put first.

She is survived by four children, Cindy Harris and partner Jesse Griffin of Texico, Janet Hicks and husband Jerry of Mt. Vernon, Dan Finn and wife Stacey of Opdyke, and Tammy Bain and husband Arthur of Centralia; nine grandchildren, Dayna, Jason, Andrea, Shane, Chelsey, Beth, Daniel, Dani, and Dave; fourteen great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends;  and her beloved dog, Bo.

In addition to her husband, Kellie Finn, she was preceded in death by infant son Tommy, and son Ron Finn; parents; and siblings, Doris Kell, Betty Morton, Don Roberson, and Nina Jones.  She looked forward to a reunion with her loved ones in Heaven, and knew that someday the circle would be unbroken.  She is painfully missed, but it is not forever, only a “See you then.”

Funeral services for Shirley Finn will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating.  Burial will follow at Zion Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 12:000 p.m. (noon) until the hour of service, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family of Shirley Finn, and will be received at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
