John B. Justice, 75, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away on January 4, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.
He was born August 7, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Fred and Betty Jean (Knauss) Justice, Jr. John married Frances (Hunter) Justice in 1972 at Logan Street Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with 50 years of marriage.
In addition to his beloved wife, John is survived by his son, Marc Justice of Springfield, Illinois; granddaughter, Morella Hartz of Denver, Colorado; siblings, Janet Garretson and husband, Richard of Mount Vernon, James Justice and wife, Cathy of Nashville, Tennessee, Jeff Justice of Winston Salem, North Carolina, and Jay Justice of Lewisville, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Sean Justice. John graduated from the University of Missouri in Rolla where he majored in civil engineering. He worked as a regional manager for the State of Illinois, EPA Division of Air Pollution. In his spare time, John enjoyed bowling, golfing, classic cars, lifting weights, and being outdoors on the farm. He treasured the time he shared with family and friends. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, including his precious dog, Juno.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Reverend Alan Smith officiating.
