Belinda Jean “Sissy” Yates, age 65 of Centralia, passed away on January 5, 2023, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Belinda was born on September 9, 1957.
She was affectionately known as Sissy to those who loved and cared for her. She was a sweet soul with a bubbly, exuberant personality. Sissy could always get you to laugh, and a lot of times, it seemed to be when you needed it the most. She had a knack for knowing who was in her vicinity and loved for others to “come here for a minute” because she had “something to tell you” or even just to visit and chat. She enjoyed going out to eat and shopping, but she was especially fond of parades and fairs. She loved music, and “Single Ladies” was her jam. She loved going to karaoke and was known to surprise everyone when she would start singing an impromptu tune. She also had a deep appreciation for a tasty Diet Coke.
Her smile and laughter brightened up any room and the world will seem just a little duller without it. She will be deeply missed by her friends and caregivers at Bryan Manor.
Graveside services for Belinda Jean “Sissy” Yates will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Phil Martin officiating. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting with services. Online condolences can be made at www.CrouseFH.com.
