2023 01/02 – Westley Allen Villalobos

Westley Allen Villalobos, 34, passed away on December 1, 2022, in San Diego, CA.

Born October 24, 1988, in Mt. Vernon, IL, he was the son of Anthony and Cynthia Villalobos of Salem.

Simple cremation was chosen, and burial will be private.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Lodge in Salem, IL on January 2nd from 4:00-7:00   Friends and family are invited to come together to share a meal and memories of good times with Wes.  Memorials can be made in Wes’ honor at the donor’s choice.  Online condolences and memories can be shared in the guest book at legacy.com

Wes was a graduate of Salem High School and the Illinois Institute of Technology.  

He worked for General Atomics in California where he was a Test Director and Engineer for a design team on many drone projects including the MQ-9B first trans-Atlantic flight.

Wes enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, snowboarding, and golf. He loved spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered as a very caring person who was always eager to help. Wes ran cross country from grade school through college and is remembered fondly by his teammates as a hard worker and a ‘go-to’ person who could always be turned to for support. 

He is survived by his parents Tony and Cindy Villalobos of Salem, his sister April Villalobos of Benton, niece Ella, nephews Tyson, Cruz, and Benji, as well as a grandmother, grandfather, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him greatly.
