Nina C. Jones, 92, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 3:23 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor, in Mt. Vernon.
She was born May 25, 1930, in Divide, the daughter of Jesse and Jewel (Lisenby) Roberson. She was married for 75 years to Dale L. Jones, and they were married on July 19, 1947, at his parent’s home in Dix, by Byron Bruce.
He preceded her in death on July 12, 2022 Nina attended Field School, Ashley School, and Campground School.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a retired cosmetologist. She is survived by one son, Randall Dale Jones and wife Jana of Iuka; two daughters, Diana Lee Winternheimer and husband Ron of Dahlgren, and Sandra Lynn Pinkston, of Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also looking forward to the arrival of another great-grandchild, due in April. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Finn. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons; grandson, Timothy Dale; son-in-law, John Pinkston; brother, Donald Roberson; and sisters, Doris Kell and Betty Morton.
Funeral services for Nina will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Rev. Randy Hayes and Rev. Jason Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.
