Doris Jean Williams, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 17, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Pegram, Tennessee.
She was born May 14, 1942, in Vernon, Illinois to Cecil and Dessie (Donoho) Bobbett. She married Charles L. Williams who preceded her in death on September 5, 1978. Doris worked at the White Brick Cafe for many years and retained many lifelong friends. She was stunningly beautiful on the outside but her true beauty was her heart. She lovingly cared for and treasured her children and grandchildren for their entire lives – along with everyone else who needed her. She was Mom to all who knew her and she loved that. Doris is survived by her children: Debbie Rankin and husband Chuck of Trenton, Georgia; Donna Mcwhorter and husband Doug of Pegram, Tennessee; and Brent Mann and special friend Theresa Kreke, Kim Haltenhoff and partner Billy Phillips, Jon Williams, and Giles (Jessica) Mann, all of Salem; an uncle, Jerry Donoho, cousins Bill (Kathy) Rusk, Sharon (Jerry) Hill, along with 8 grandchildren: Tiffany Mosby, Nick Rankin, Dylan (Amber) McWhorter, David (Brenda) McWhorter, Charles (Samantha) Houser, Heather (Justin) Kannall and Amanda Sands; and 17 great-grandchildren with another on the way. Preceding her in death were her husband Charles ‘Chuck’ Williams, parents Cecil Bobbett and Edna O’Dessa ‘Dessie’ Branson, stepfather, Ed Branson, brother Warren Bobbett, and nephew Cecil Bobbett. The family invites you to visit with them at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 noon at Sutherland Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881, (618) 548-1234, entrusted with the family’s care.
