The Sandoval School Board Monday night hired Nathan Mayberry as its new Junior-Senior High Principal.
Mayberry had been holding the position as ‘assistant’ principal until completing some course work needed to qualify for the principal’s job. Mayberry was athletic director, head boys basketball coach, and PE teacher prior to being named assistant principal when current Superintendent Matt Dannaman was promoted from the principal’s job.
In other action, the board made the yearly appointment to keep Deborah Wuebben as District treasurer.
The board approved its annual financial report that showed all funds in the black.
The board also okayed its annual property tax levy not to exceed 4.9-percent of what was collected in the past year’s property taxes.
The board also agreed to increase the pay of retired Sandoval teachers who return as substitutes from $100 to $120 a day.
