A 30-year-old Patoka man has been arrested for fleeing and eluding police, driving revoked, and possession of a firearm by a felon following both a vehicle and foot chase on Tuesday. Initial information indicates Joshua Lucas first tried to avoid Sandoval Police in a vehicle and drove across some yards. He then fled the vehicle on foot and attempted to run before being apprehended.
An 18-year-old Centralia man was taken to the Marion County Jail by Centralia Police for aggravated battery following an altercation at an apartment in the 100 block of East Broadway. Jose Dominquez-Garcia is accused of striking the victim in the face, choking her, and then reportedly setting some of her clothes on fire in an attempt to burn her. However, police say the victim was not burned.
Centralia Police have arrested a 34-year-old Salem man for possession of under five grams of methamphetamine and domestic battery after he was allegedly found inside the Amtrak train depot during a routine check. Police report Michael Deadmond of East Bennett was wanted in connection with a November 23rd domestic battery incident involving his mother. He then allegedly had less than five grams of methamphetamine in his possession. Deadmond was taken to the Clinton County Jail at Carlyle on the domestic battery case and was given a notice to appear on the possession of meth case in Marion County.
A 22-year-old Sandoval man, Brandon Bierman of South Oak, turned himself in on a Marion County failure to appear warrant on a residential burglary conviction. Bond is set at $5,000.
