2022 12/07 – Cecil Gene Thalman

Cecil Gene Thalman, 94, of Patoka passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at his home.

He was born on December 14, 1927, the son of Roy and Edith (Gerrish) Thalman in Marion County. He married Elizabeth “June” Peddicord on October 18, 1952, in Sandoval and she survives in Patoka.

Along with his beloved wife of 70 years, June Thalman, Cecil is survived by his sister Alberta Kannady and husband Luke of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law Pat Beauford of Salem.

Mr. Thalman was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers Bob Thalman, and LeRoy Thalman

Mr. Thalman was a proud United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union of Kansas City, Missouri, working for Chicago Bridge and Iron from 1952 – 1959. Cecil was a farmer in the Patoka area from 1959 – 1991. He was a former member of the Marion County Farm Bureau. Cecil enjoyed the simple things in life, watching his crops grow into a bountiful harvest, quail hunting, and loving his life with his beloved wife.

Burial will be at Harrison Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held by the family at a future date. Memorials may be made in Cecil’s honor to Harrison Cemetery or Donor’s Choice.
