Stuart James “Jimmy” Knox, age 56, of Sandoval, Illinois, passed away at 11:03 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at White Oaks Nursing Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born on July 25, 1966, in Stuttgart, Germany, the son of William C. and Bernadine Sue (Sterrett) Knox.
Jimmy is survived by his loving family, father, Bill Knox of Centralia, Illinois, daughter, Christina Knox of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; sons, Alberto of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and Weis of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; six grandchildren; sisters, Paula Fugitt and husband Cary of Central City, Illinois, Julie Miller and husband Aron of Centralia, Illinois, Karen Branch of Carlyle, Illinois, and Linda Archie and husband Tim of Marion, Illinois; aunt, Gwen Reid of Momence, Illinois; uncle, Raymond Sterrett of Centralia, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many dear close friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine Sue Knox, and stepmother, Phyllis A. Knox.
Jimmy was a man, who never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He was one to always look at the bright side and never complained about anything. He really enjoyed riding his motorcycles all the time throughout the countryside. The love of riding his motorcycle allowed him to join different motorcycle clubs in Mexico over time. Jimmy cherished the time he spent with his family, and truly loved his children and grandchildren.
Jimmy was an over-the-road truck driver for many years with different trucking companies until his retirement due to health reasons in January of 2019. The love of truck driving enabled Jimmy to see a lot throughout the country and meet many different people along his travels. After his stroke, he missed being out on the open road so he would drive around with his father, Bill. He would also drive around with his sisters, especially to a burger stand in Moonshine, Illinois, for one of their delicious burgers. Jimmy graduated with Carlyle High School’s “Class of 1985.” He lived in Sandoval, Illinois, formerly living in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, for twenty years. He grew up in Posey, Illinois.
It was the wish of Mr. Stuart James “Jimmy” Knox to leave this world quietly with no public visitation. A private family Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois 62801.
