Sandoval opened their season at the Elverado Thanksgiving Tournament with a 57-22 win over Dongola. The Blackhawks return to action against the DuQuoin JV Friday at 2:30.
At the Mulberry Grove Tournament, Patoka/Odin opened up with a loss to Father McGivney 64-46.
South Central dropped their season opener at Flora 50-45. SC trailed 21-8 at the halftime break, but Ethan Watwood got hot late turning a 7 point deficit in the final minute to 2 before Flora would hold on. It’s the first win at home for the Wolves in 19 games. The Cougars were led by Aiden Dodson with 16 and Watwood with 15. Spencer Johannes chipped in 6 in the loss. SC won the Freshman and JV games.
