Chris married the love of his life, Pamela Sue (Alexander) Michel on September 12, 1981, in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The two were happily married for forty-one years. He always said that Pam was the love of his life since the fourth grade.

Chris attended the University of Arizona. He owned and operated most of his career, at Michel Fertilizer Company in Mount Vernon. The business was founded by Chris’ grandfather Adolf Michel then his father, Carlyle, and now Chris and his sons. They also owned Tanks Lot. Chris was an avid Price is Right fan. He loved all sports, fishing, and hunting for propane tanks. He loved to play tunes on the jukebox and sing along. Above all, Chris cherished the loving companionship of his wife and children with trips to Destin, Florida. Also the family dog, Chubbs Peterson. He will live in our hearts forever with many stories to share. Remember when will bring laughter. This world will be less special without him on our life’s journey. We always want to be without loved ones and wonder if they are okay.
“Don’t grieve for me, for now, I’m free. I’m following the path God laid for me. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.”
