A second person has been charged in Marion County Court in connection with a Sunday burglary and theft of items from a Country Mark oilfield office located off the Selmaville Road southwest of Salem.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Tristan Rankin of Robin Road was charged with felony theft after he was allegedly found in possession of some of the stolen items taken from the building.

Rankin had just recently posted $30,000 bond on a Jefferson County burglary case for allegedly taking a tractor.

The other person believed involved in the case was charged in Marion County Court on Wednesday. 40-year-old Eric DeWitt of Robin Road was charged with burglary and felony theft for allegedly taking a thermal printer from the building.

DeWitt had the public defender appointed and bond set at $5,000. If released on bond, he was ordered to have no contact with the Country Mark property.
