A 25-year-old Salem man has been arrested for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Joshua Roedl of South Lincoln Street was arrested by Salem Police Wednesday night following a more than month-long investigation.
Police Detectives say Roedl is accused of committing a sex act with a four-year-old girl at his residence. The incident was reported to police through the Illinois Department of Family Services on October 6th, but it is not clear the exact day the incident allegedly occurred.
Police believe there was only one incident and that no other children were involved.
The investigation included an interview conducted through the Amy Center and interviews of others at his residence.
Roedl was taken into custody at the Salem Police station after coming to the department for a second interview on the allegations.
