The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports a deceased female was found inside a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff Andy Myers located a red SUV partially blocking the roadway in a field entrance three-fourths of a mile north of US 50 on North Olive Road north of Flora. The Sheriff then conducted a standard motorist assistance check on the vehicle and located the female inside.
The area was secured with assistance from the Flora Police Department. The sheriff’s office has requested assistance from the Clay County Coroner’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Tech Services, and Illinois State Police Zone 8 Investigations.
Meyer says any further details relating to the incident will be provided by State Police investigations.
