A 34-year-old Salem man free on bond on three felony charges and a suspect in multiple burglaries is back in the Marion County Jail on new attempted burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of under five grams of methamphetamine charges.

Damon DeBoer of South Jefferson was arrested Thursday for attempted burglary to the Colonial Golf Course by Marion County Sheriff’s Detectives and possession of a stolen vehicle by Salem Police. A charge of possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine was added after he was allegedly found in possession of the drug after being taken into custody.

Sheriff’s officials say DeBoer caused some damage to one of the doors of the golf course while attempting to gain entry last month. He reportedly was driving a stolen vehicle taken in Salem during the time of the break-in.

Salem Police say the pickup truck had been stolen from an employee at Safe Sheds who was out of town and was later returned.

DeBoer was free on $1,000 cash bond after being arrested in September for felony retail theft of more than $500 at the Salem Walmart Store and criminal damage to an interview room table at the law enforcement center. DeBoer was also out on $10,000 personal recognizance bond on two prior felony theft charges for taking landscaping items from the front of Four Seasons Garden Center this summer.
