A 20-year-old Centralia man has pleaded guilty to three of seven felony charges pending against him in connection with the shooting of two men at an apartment building on West McCord Street in Centralia in March of last year.

Trevin Hendricks of South Hickory Street was placed on 30 months probation and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and costs after entering a guilty plea in Clinton County Court to two counts of aggravated battery with great bodily harm and obstructing justice for destroying evidence. As part of the plea, three Class
X felony charges of aggravated battery by discharge of a firearm and arson were dropped.

Charges are still pending against another man allegedly involved in the shooting. 20-year-old Dalton Garrison of Sycamore Street in Centralia is scheduled to appear next Wednesday on three Class X charges of aggravated battery via discharge of a firearm, arson, and obstructing justice.

Centralia Police said at the time of the incident two men were shot outside the apartment and went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia on their own before being transported to a St. Louis hospital. Police indicated the shooting was not random, but the result of a disagreement. A vehicle believed to have been involved in transporting Hendricks and Garrison was later found burned, leading to the arson charges.
