Carolyn Sue Scott, 81, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on November 2, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. She was born June 11, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Leslie T. and Lottie A. (White) McGehee. Carolyn married Donald Joseph Scott on January 22, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
In addition to her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Carolyn is survived by her children, Deborah Winkler and husband, James of Georgetown, Kentucky, Brian Scott and wife, Lisa of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Rachel Mulley and husband, Jimmy of Georgetown, Kentucky, Jimmy Winkler and wife, Cassie of Georgetown, Kentucky, Sarah Scott White and husband, Michael of Smyrna, Tennessee; and eight great-grandsons.
Carolyn was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. She worked as an LPN for the Murray Center in Centralia, Illinois, and retired after twenty-two years.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 4, 2022, at 10:30 am at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Richard McCormick officiating. Interment will follow.
