CHICAGO (AP) — DeMar DeRozan scored a season-high 32 points, Zach LaVine added 26 and the Chicago Bulls handed the Utah Jazz their first loss, 107-99. The Bulls grabbed a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter and hung on after the Jazz pulled within five in the closing minutes. Utah’s Donovan Mitchell hit two free throws to cut it to 100-95 with 1:39 remaining. Nikola Vucevic answered with a 3 for Chicago and, after Rudy Gobert scored for the Jazz, drove for a layup to make it 105-97 with just under a minute remaining. Mitchell scored 30 for Utah. Gobert added 17 points and 19 rebounds. But the Jazz lost after winning their first four games.

— The Philadelphia 76ers have knocked off the team that eliminated them in the NBA’s Eastern Conference semifinals last season. Tobias Harris had 22 points and 11 rebounds as the Sixers blasted the Hawks, 122-94. Joel Embiid (joh-EHL’ ehm-BEED’) added 19 points for the 76ers, who carried a 60-36 advantage in the paint while outscoring Atlanta by a 34-14 margin on fast-break points.
— Dejounte (deh-ZHAHN’-tay) Murray had 23 points and nine assists as the Spurs defeated the Bucks, 102-93 to end a four-game losing streak. Derrick White added 17 points and Bryn Forbes scored 16 against his former team to help the Spurs take down the defending champions on the road.
— The Jazz suffered their first loss of the season as DeMar DeRozan scored a season-high 32 points and Zach LaVine (lah-veen’) added 26 in the Bulls’ 107-99 downing of Utah. Nikola Vucevic (VOO’-seh-vihch) finished with 16 points despite 4 of 19 shooting and 12 rebounds.
— Denver beat Minnesota for the 12th straight time behind Nikola Jokic (nih-KOH’-lah YOH’-kihch), who furnished 26 points and 19 rebounds in the Nuggets’ 93-91 victory. Monte Morris made a layup to break an 89-all tie with 2:04 to play.
— Stephen Curry furnished 20 points in 27 minutes of the Warriors’ 103-82 thumping of the Thunder. Draymond Green added 14 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists to the victory.
— Devin Booker scored 27 points and the Suns went on a ridiculous 50-12 spurt before settling for a 101-92 win over the Cavaliers. Deandre Ayton added 17 points and 12 rebounds for Phoenix, which trailed by 14 before its extended run.
— Jimmy Butler droped 27 points, Tyler Herro (HEE’-roh) added 22 and the Heat beat the Grizzlies by a 129-103 margin. Duncan Robinson and Kyle Lowry scored 15 points each for Miami, which hit 21 3-pointers.
— R.J. Barrett made six 3-pointers and poured in a career-high 35 points to lead the Knicks’ 123-117 victory at New Orleans. Evan Fournier hit five from deep and scored 19, and Kemba Walker made four 3s and also scored 19 for New York.
— Washington is 5-1 after Bradley Beal scored 36 points and a pair of Wizards had double-doubles in a 115-112 victory over the Celtics in double-overtime. Kyle Kuzma added 17 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, while Montrezl (MAHN’-trehz) Harrell added 20 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out in the second OT.
— Scottie Barnes scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Raptors beat the Pacers, 97-94. Fred VanFleet finished with 16 points in Toronto’s third straight win, which includes two victories over Indiana.
— First overall pick Cade Cunningham had two points and seven rebounds in his NBA debut, helping the Pistons earn a 110-103 win against the Magic. Jeremi Grant scored 22 points and Kelly Olynyk had 18 points for Detroit.
