The Salem Township Hospital Board has adopted a $15 an hour minimum wage effective Sunday.
Hospital President Alex Nazarian says about 30 employees will immediately be affected. He hopes it will help the hospital be able to find new employees and keep existing workers during the current labor shortage. Nazarian says the move to a $15 an hour minimum wage completes the process of salary increases being made over the past three to four months.
Nazarian feels the minimum wage will be good for the community as well as it will give hospital employees more spending power at retail businesses in the community.
