The Marion County Health Department is reporting another two COVID-19 related deaths bringing the number of deaths since the pandemic began to 153.
Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says the deaths were a male in his 50s and a male in his 60s. Neither was vaccinated.
There have been 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and Thursday. Four were fully vaccinated. Two are school-aged. None were long-term care residents. 13 cases are considered community spread and three are the results of household or close contacts.
There are now 251 active cases including 21 in the hospital. Two of those hospitalized are on ventilators. Those in the hospital include one in their 80s, 4 in their 70s, six in their 60s, five in their 50s, three in their 40s, one in their 30s, and one under three months old.
There were 146 released from isolation Wednesday and Thursday.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 21 new COVID-19 cases in the past two days with 46 now in isolation.
