The SC Storm Chaser 13u finished up their fall season with a 2nd place finish at the GMB Tournament in O’Fallon, Missouri held at the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex. SC opened Sunday with a 7-1 win over St Louis Naturals. Trent Ingram was the winning pitcher dominating the game scattering 7 hits and striking out 10 in six innings of work. Haydon Prather worked the 7th. At the plate, Sebastian Kruger, doubled and tripled while driving in 3. Payton Gullion and Avery Gullion each drove in 2 runs. Garrett Shumate added a hit and 2 runs.
SC then fell to the Rawlings Tigers 5-4 due to time limit in the championship. SC trailed 4-1 after 2 innings but would mount their comeback with 3 straight runs before their comeback was cut short due to the time limit. Boston Isaacs worked the first 2 innings and then Payton Gullion came in and provided 3 solid innings of relief to keep SC in the game. At the plate, Colton Cartright, Isaacs and Sebastian Kruger drove in runs. Luke Shumate added 2 hits and a run and Garrett Shumate singled and scored.
