The Centralia City Council Monday night will consider creation of a new Class H liquor license for cosmetic service establishments. The request for the new license is being made by Hollywood Hair. Initially, it would be the only Class H liquor license available.
The license would require the business does at least 51-percent of its gross retail sales in cosmetic services. It would allow for consumption of beer, wine or other liquor by the glass while waiting for or receiving cosmetic services. No window or any other signage would be permitted in the window or surrounding property that alcohol liquor is available.
The staff is not making a recommendation, but City Manager Scott Randall says he approves of the proposal that is being brought forward by Mayor Bryan Kuder.
The council will also be asked to close some downtown streets and sidewalks for the Christmas Stroll on December 3rd.
Two retiring employees will be recognized. Public Property Foreman Patrick Stedelin is being recognized for 36 years of dedicated service by the city and Police Sergeant James T. Ramsey is being honored for over 25 years of dedicated service to the Centralia Police Department.
The Centralia City Council meeting will be held in person at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall. It will also be available for viewing remotely via Zoom.
