Lawmakers are due back in Springfield Tuesday for the Fall Veto Session.

The legislature is expected to take up newly drawn congressional district maps, as well as a correction to the Clean Energy Bill that was just passed last month.

Governor JB Pritzker says the change would ensure the $4000 rebate for buying electric cars applies to all of Illinois.

“There’s some conflicting language within the bill.  The intention all along was to make it available to everybody in the state.  That is clear in several sections of the bill but unclear in another two sections.”

There’s also talk of possibly nixing the state’s parental notification act for abortions.  Pritzker was asked for his thoughts on that at an unrelated press conference.

“I think I’m clear about it.  I’m in favor of a woman’s right to choose and I’m in favor of repealing PNA.  I don’t know if the legislature will bring this up during the two weeks of veto session but I stood in favor of it since I was elected, in fact long before that when my mother had me marching for a woman’s right to choose back in the 1970s.”

Another topic may be the state’s health care right of conscious act, which has been cited by some in hopes of avoiding the Covid-19 vaccine mandate for certain workers.
