A 22-year-old Salem man has been arrested by Salem Police for alleged armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon following a Saturday evening incident at the Hucks Store parking lot on West Main and Missouri Avenue.

Police reports indicate that Kemper Hotze of West Warmoth Street allegedly pulled a large kitchen knife from his sweatshirt and displayed it at a man in a car as he taking $100 from the man’s hand.

Hotze was taken into custody at Huck’s parking lot when Salem Police arrived.  The money allegedly stolen was recovered.   No injuries were reported.

Hotze was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on the filing of formal charges.
