Judge Michael McHaney set bond at $1-million for a 39-year-old rural Salem woman formally charged in Marion County Court on Friday with armed robbery with a firearm.

Christina Lewis of Woodard School Road is accused of displaying a gun towards the manager of Wendy’s Restaurant in Salem Thursday afternoon and demanding the money in the cash registers and her office.

Public Defender Craig Griffin was appointed to represent Lewis on the Class X felony charge.  If released on bond, Lewis was ordered to have no contact with the Salem Wendy’s or the victim.  She is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on November 19th.

The Wendy’s restaurant was closed at the time due to a lack of employees but was preparing to reopen.  An employee arriving for work heard money dropping and saw a woman holding a gun towards the manager.   She called 911 and an officer arrived within a minute and stopped the suspect as she was leaving a side door with a bag of money and a loaded pistol.   Police say Lewis offered no resistance.
